CentraCare is committed to helping new graduate Registered Nurses (RNs) in their transition from student to professional nurse through our Graduate Nurse Residency Program. This program is available for new nurses who have less than 1 year of RN experience and is offered at Paynesville, Melrose, Sauk Centre, Long Prairie, Rice Memorial in Willmar, and five-time Magnet-designated St. Cloud Hospital.
Our program is one of the best in the country for new RNs and is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Our year-long program is designed to provide you with additional training, support, and resources needed to transform you into an exceptional professional nurse. New RNs in the program will enhance their skills and knowledge through monthly paid training sessions. These sessions will consist of a variety of activities such as group discussions, simulations, case studies, and a professional development project. Upon accepting a nursing position, you will be automatically enrolled in the program.
“I learned so much in my first year as a nurse, and the new graduate nurse residency helped to supplement and solidify my knowledge. I felt the residency provided me with additional support and exposed me to all of the resources that CentraCare has available for their nurses.” Jessaca, BSN, RN, Women and Children’s Care, Rice Memorial Hospital
