Graduate Sales/Development Executive

This position is for a sales focused candidate who is looking to forge a career as a Sales Professional at Marsh. Upon completion of a structured training programme, the successful responsible for the acquisition of new clients in our Commercial segment.

This requires the profitable acquisition and growth of clients through the delivery of the overall client relationship & development strategy.

Within the role, the successful candidate will specialise in the SME segment typically prospecting companies with a minimum turnover of £3m upwards. Your network of prospects will include a focus on two key industry sectors in your designated region.

Contact management / Prospect developmentPipeline management in Marsh CRM systemsProspect and industry sector research and planningAbility to build and develop relationships with prospects and industry stakeholdersContinuous personal learning & developmentDelivery of new business budget targets to support your office and regionProject management from initial point of prospect contact to transition to clientDrive quality, consistency and accuracy in all aspects of the prospect and client engagementWorking as part of a wider Marsh team to enable us to deliver the best possible risk solutions to our clientsBeing prospect / client key initial point of contact and key advocate within Marsh  Engaging with the wider community in Marsh McLennan, such as other business segments, specialties and our sister businesses Mercer, Guy Carpenter and Oliver Wyman

Once established in the role, we would expect the successful candidate to:

Deliver agreed new business targetsProgress in technical competency and experience as well as achievement towards industry accredited qualifications (Cert CII DipCII / ACII)Develop a network of clients, prospects and stakeholders within your industry sectorsSteer towards an industry focus to build a future specialism.

What you need to have: 

Hold a 2:1 university degree (or equivalent qualification) or aboveRight to Work in the UK or Republic of Ireland (no visa sponsorship provided)Ability to work in a fast paced environment and supportive team focused environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalSales drive, focus on results and financially drivenBusiness acumen and an understanding of the core mechanics of financeMaturity and an ability to connect across multiple segments / demographicsAmbition, tenacity, confidence, ability to learnStakeholder management skills up to and including senior stakeholder engagement
