Your role and responsibilities

We offer a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic intern or graduate in the world ofprocess automation. During this internship, you will take the lead in developing and programming the controls of a scale model of a bridge. The mechanical model has been created but the link between the model and the controllers still has to be made. This project is not only a technical challenge, but it also serves as an important sales tool for our sales team. It demonstrates the power and flexibility of our 800xA Distributed Control System (DCS) from ABB in simu-lating and managing complex industrial processes.Your challengeYou will be responsible for the entire process of designing and implementing the controls for this scale model. This includes:- Applying the V-model in your software design process.- Programming and configuring the 800xA DCS system including SCADA/HMI inter-face.- Testing and validating the bridge control system to ensure it is reliable and representative of oursystem.At the end of your internship/graduation, you will have rea-lised a complete functional scale model that our sales team can use to demonstrate the capabilities of our automation systems to potentialcustomers.What are we looking for?For this unique and technological internship/graduation, we are looking for a driven and innovative student who is passionate about automation and control systems. We welcome candidates from Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field who are ready to put their skills and knowledge into practice.

Qualifications for the role

You are an enthusiastic and motivated HBO student looking for a (graduation) internship in the field of mechatronics and/or electronics.You are looking for an internship for at least 5 months.A wait-and-see attitude does not suit you, because you like to take the initiative.You feel at home in a professional technological environment in which you are able to work independently and accurately.You have experience with plc programming.You have a good command of the Dutch and English languages, both spoken and written.
