Program Description: The Graham SLAM (Support, Lead, Achieve, Model) program works with youth between the 8th grade and age 26 who are in Graham Windham’s programs including foster care, foster care prevention and community-based afterschool programs. The program aims to put youth on a livable wage path by focusing on their success in high school, college, and career development. The program ‘sticks with’ youth through age 26, or until they are on a living wage career path. Principal Objective/Role Overview: We seek a dynamic manager to provide direct supervision to the Graham SLAM Youth Coaches. The Graham SLAM Supervisor will support the coaches in forming transformational relationships with youth to help youth build critical skills and guide youth to academic milestones and career success. Job Responsibilities: + Delivers ongoing management, direction and support to coaches. Guides staff to use Solution-Based Casework and Motivational Interviewing techniques to develop and follow action plans to reach these goals, with consistent support, communication, and follow-through. + Provides supervision to assigned staff creating psychological safety by leading with vulnerability, authenticity and accountability, enabling staff to offer appropriate and consistent services through ongoing training and skills development + Supports staff in developing strong relationships with young people using effective modeling of pro-social skills. + Responsible for recruiting youth for Graham SLAM therapeutic peer groups. + Helps staff facilitate therapeutic peer groups which focus on skill building such as effective communication, interpersonal relationships, teamwork, leadership, conflict management, self-composure, personal accountability and service learning. + Forms strong relationships across Graham with case planners, supervisors, care coordinators and therapists and works to create a collaborative culture within Graham SLAM. + Helps build systems to collect data and participates in data-informed management meetings + Ensures that efficient administrative procedures are in place + Effectively manages financial information, and physical resources to achieve the program’s objectives + Partners with the Program Director to conduct outreach to outside community agencies and provide direction to all program staff + Collaborate with other system providers to help ensure that the varied systems are driving towards similar goals in a coordinated fashion. + Is committed to furthering anti-racist efforts, can work with diverse cultures and populations including LGBTQIA+, can process information and respond empathically. + Participate in scheduled staff meetings and staff training. Qualifications Position Qualifications: + Bachelor’s Degreerequired; master’s degree preferred + Minimum of three years of experience working with adolescents and experience working with at-risk adolescents is highly desirable, preferably in the field of child welfare.
