REPORTS TO: Grain Accounting Manager                                                                                       STATUS: Non-Exempt

 

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Grain Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for performing clerical and accounting duties according to accepted accounting standards.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

      Interacting with staff and vendors regarding missing documentation, approvals, pricing, or other discrepancies.       Maintains efficient, up-to-date manual, automated filing systems and completes general office procedures.       Ensures invoices coming due are communicated with the appropriate team member for approval of product and expense invoices.       Make sure the timely processing of invoices and credits to maximize available discounts and minimize additional service charges.       Enters new vendors into the system and updates information in the master files as needed.       Verifies and corrects vendor data, payments, invoices, credits, and discount terms, including verifying invoices to reflect the appropriate sales tax amount before entering data into the computer.       Responsible for issuing prompt and correct payments electronically.       Completes supplier reconciliations monthly and resolves vendor issues.

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

      Must maintain a high level of customer service.      Most of the time is spent inside an office environment.      May be required to cross-train and fill in for other office positions such as Grain Accounting Assistants.       Working knowledge of the accepted accounting procedures.       May possibly be required to pick up/drop off local products or materials by request. Perform related duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Normally requires a high school diploma or G.E.D.

Other Requirements

      Exhibit regular and prompt attendance, including but not limited to all required meetings and training programs. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposed to grain dust and noise from grain probes, truck traffic, and elevator operation.
