GRAIN LABORER Job Details Job Location Collins Grain Elevator - Dutton, MT Description JOB SUMMARY The purpose of this position is to assist the location manager in a variety of tasks to make Mountain View Co-op (MVC) a successful operation. The Laborer must maintain a positive and cooperative attitude that promotes teamwork, integrity, honesty, and helpfulness. The Laborer must embrace and exhibit MVC’s philosophy and culture of customer service.   REPORTING RELATIONSHIP Reports to the Location Manager.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES + Establish and maintain a positive customer service experience. + Establish and maintain a positive experience for MVC customers, clients, and vendors, through professional interpersonal interactions. + Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and tools in order to ensure operational readiness, safety, and cleanliness. + Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. + Load, unload, and move material to and from storage and production areas as needed. + Load containers and/or conveyers with product using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels and/or pitchforks. + Maintain storage areas to ensure inventory is protected. + Perform all job duties and related tasks in an efficient and timely manner. + Report for duty in a fit condition, complying with the location dress code and acceptable personal hygiene. + Provide feedback to Managers. + Practice and encourage workplace safety. + Other duties as assigned.   ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge and understanding of: + Basic math + MVC products and purposes + Safety rules, procedures, and practices Ability to: + Establish effective working relationships with management, co-workers, and the general public. + Report to work on-time and as scheduled. + Operate various equipment for loading and unloading. + Read work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. + Communicate effectively with others in both technical and non-technical terms. + Work varied shifts and days as required of the position.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Experience: + High School diploma or GED + Equipment operation License/Certification: + Forklift Certification or ability to obtain is preferred + Valid Driver’s License issued by the State of Montana   ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL ABILITIES The physical demands described herein are representative of those that are required by the employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Working Conditions: + Work is generally performed in outdoor and warehouse environments. + Duties are required in all weather conditions. + Various noise levels are present in the work environment, from low to moderately loud.
