Grant Accountant
Description We are in search of a meticulous Grant Accountant for our team located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. In this role, the individual will be integral to our accounting team, focusing primarily on grant accounting. The Grant Accountant will be tasked with managing grant-related post-award activities including but not limited to compliance, budget and expense analysis, financial reporting, and assisting with various accounting duties. Responsibilities: • Assure compliance with grant requirements and regulations while managing grant funds • Develop and maintain comprehensive files of all grant-related documents, including contracts, award notices, and grant revisions • Facilitate regular meetings with the Controller to provide updates on grant fund usage • Manage the preparation and submission of financial reports for funding agencies in a timely manner • Assist with the establishment of new grants and monitor grant expenditures • Maintain consistent communication with Grants and Contracts team members, especially during the onset and conclusion of a grant • Support during periodic funder program reviews and prepare necessary documentation • Implement and maintain software packages related to grants and grant management • Contribute to the annual audit process by preparing requested audit schedules • Participate in the evaluation and strengthening of internal accounting controls. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in grant accounting or a related field • Demonstrable expertise in grant accounting and fund accounting, specifically in the non-profit sector • Proficiency in various funding processes, including application, management, and reporting • Strong understanding of budget processes and financial forecasting • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information to non-financial stakeholders • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred • Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is an asset • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting, finances, and taxation • Solid organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
