Description The Grants Accountants responsibilities encompass a central role in managing financial happenings, including financial report generation, documenting revenues, and implementing modifications to the existing financial structure. This role is located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and is a contract-to-hire employment opportunity within the Government sector. Key Responsibilities: • Act as a financial overseer and provide fiscal assistance in cooperation with the Central Office, educational institutions, and local branches. • Assess financial records and budgets and manage account analysis. • Oversee and document all revenue channels of designated sectors, including cash inflow, deposits, and fund transfers. • Uphold compliance with Recognized Accounting Standards (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards, and other applicable norms; implement corrective steps to rectify any discrepancies or deviations. • Develop and modify financial plans for submission to the Board and local governing bodies while compiling budgets for different levels of grants- federal, state, and local. • Create financial reports and reimbursement requests at state/federal levels; hand over fund or reimburses claims to pertinent state, federal, or local agencies. • Collaborate with external auditors to address queries on fiscal activities and expenditure. Sorting out irregularities and taking the necessary corrective steps. • Liaise effectively with administrative officials, key decision-makers, support staff, and other stakeholders. • Proficient in using computer systems to input, update, verify, and correct data; capable of deploying word processing, spreadsheets, databases, payroll and finance applications, and other software. • Undertake routine administrative duties, such as managing phone calls, sending/receiving faxes, and organizing documentation. Requirements • Must possess skills in preparing budgets and financial reports • Must have knowledge of budgeting processes and account analysis • Required to monitor expenditures and generate reports regularly • Experience with daily cash receipts and cash deposits is necessary • Familiarity with EFT - Electronic Funds Transfer is essential • Must have a solid understanding of GAAP Accounting principles • Experience in Grant Accounting is required • Must be capable of managing reimbursement requests efficiently Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
