Grant Accountant
Description We are offering a contract to hire position in the government sector at Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, 29464, United States. The role is for a Grant Accountant, who will primarily focus on managing grants, coordinating financial reporting, maintaining financial records, and assisting with audits. Responsibilities: • Coordinate with various departments and subject matter experts to research and identify potential grants from local, state, federal, and private foundation sources. • Manage the preparation and submission of grant applications and packages, ensuring the best possible outcome. • Record all grant-related activities in the general ledger and ensure compliance with timely reporting as stipulated by the funding agency. • Prepare and submit regular grant reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Oversee and submit requests for reimbursements from other agencies. • Keep track of equipment related to grant programs and coordinate FEMA reporting activities with relevant departments. • Act as the finance representative for grant and FEMA administration, preparing the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA) report. • Stay abreast with changes in governmental accounting and reporting requirements, assisting with the review of financial statements and reconciling general ledger accounts. • Assist with grant monitoring activities, annual audit, and other internal and external audits. • Maintain, manage, and organize grant, FEMA, and other financial records, recording receipts, disbursements, and journal entries. • Prepare invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and recommend and assist with implementing improved processes and procedures. Requirements • Possess proficiency in Grant Accounting • Have substantial experience in Federal Grant management • Be well-versed in Grant Management procedures • Hold a deep understanding of Government Grants • Exhibit strong skills in Grant Writing • Have experience in Fund Accounting, particularly in the Non-Profit sector • Possess a deep knowledge of Fund Accounting principles • Be adept at making accurate Accounting Entries • Be capable of handling diverse Accounting Functions • Show proficiency in preparing Journal Entries • Have expertise in Ledger Account Reconciliation.
