Description
We are looking to bring on board a Grant Accountant to join our client's team in the Lawrenceville, New Jersey area. The role primarily involves maintaining our portfolio of grants and contracts, ensuring compliance, and providing financial oversight for grant-related projects.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the administration, monitoring, and reporting of all grant-related accounting tasks
• Comply with guidelines set by funding sources
• Take charge of collecting revenue related to grants
• Handle the creation, monitoring, reconciliation, and validation of grant tags in NetSuite
• Set up new grants in the NetSuite system
• Supervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities for grant accounts
• Report monthly on active grants, reviewing balances and timelines with supervisors
• Provide financial oversight for grant project funds
• Serve as the primary contact for annual audit processes
• Conduct budget-to-actual grant spending analyses
• Execute closing activities for completed grants
• Carry out assigned monthly account reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze monthly variance reports for internal management reporting
• Cooperate with licensee and department staff in inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Proven experience as a Grant Accountant in the non-profit sector.
• Proficiency in grant accounting and financial management is a must.
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local grant regulations.
• Exceptional proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical skills to review and analyze complex financial data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in preparing financial reports and audits.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information.
• Willingness to stay updated with the latest financial laws and regulations.
• Commitment to the mission and values of the non-profit sector.
