Description
We are in need of a meticulous Grant Accountant to become part of our team based in Tacoma, Washington. Occupying a role within the non-profit industry, you will be tasked with managing over a hundred grants, ensuring accurate grant and government billing, and performing annual grant reporting. This role also includes cross-training and working with different accounting software systems.
Responsibilities:
• Handle the billing process for state, federal, and local grants
• Implement and manage a newly purchased grant module
• Cross-train with team members to ensure smooth workflow
• Address any issues related to grant billing during the absence of team members
• Manage multiple grants which may have their own portal
• Collaborate with the accounting manager for state reporting requirements.
Requirements
• Proficient in all basic Accounting Functions, including but not limited to, accounts payable and receivable, ledger management, and financial reporting
• Strong auditing skills, with a focus on thoroughness and attention to detail
• In-depth understanding of budget processes, including the ability to plan, monitor, and adjust as necessary
• Knowledge of Capital Management strategies to ensure the non-profit's financial stability
• Ability to manage Cash Activity, including processing payments, recording transactions, and reconciling bank statements
