The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Grant Coordinator to support the Kentucky Region. This position can be located in Lexington or Louisville and is a hybrid opportunity.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Grant Coordinators are responsible for coordinating the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and manage grant proposals and reports. They will also Research grant opportunities that matches goals and objectives of the chapter or region. Gathers information such as data and impact stories and coordinates/writes grant proposals to government, corporation, United Way, and foundation funds. Also responsible for developing other fund-raising materials such as stewardship reports and email templates.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE GOOD:
1. Supports Executive Director and Fund Development staff in the creation of proposals and reports for funding needs across the Kentucky region.
2. Researches, develops and writes proposals to secure grants from foundations including the United Way and other grant-making organizations.
3. Collaborates with chapter(s) staff to determine needs and identify fundable projects fitting organizational strategies.
4. Coordinates all data requests and grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors and United Way.
5. Conducts initial review of planned proposals and submission guidelines to determine feasibility; suggests positioning.
6. Assists with other fundraising projects as assigned.
7. Develops fundraising materials such as stewardship reports and email templates.
8. Manages volunteers to accomplish responsibilities.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: High School or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Skills & Abilities: Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team.
Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

COMPENSATION RATE:
The salary range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
