Coordinates funding strategies with the Mayor’s Office, Chief Financial Officer, and Department Directors. Performs all activities related to grants management, including research, identification, application, coordination, tracking, reporting, and close out. Qualifying Requirements: Your City of Pittsburgh application will be reviewed and your work experience and education/training will be evaluated to determine if you meet the qualifying eligibility requirements listed below for this position. You will be sent an eligibility letter regarding your eligible/ineligible status. + WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show two (2) years of full-time experience in grants related work - writing, managing, researching, or a closely related field. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.) + EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, Writing, Literature or related field. (See NOTE under the General Application Requirements Section above regarding the verification of education/training). + EQUIVALENCY: Education/training and/or work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis if the application clearly shows the required number of years to meet the Total Qualifying Requirement for this position (based on the sum of work experience and education/training listed above). POSITION DUTIES + Helps to develop strategies to obtain federal, state, and local grants for the City of Pittsburgh. + Researches information and data necessary for grant applications and grant reporting. + Assists City departments, agencies, authorities, and outside organizations with the completion of grant applications, which may include supplementing, editing, and organizing documents written by others. + Completes and submits grant applications. + Assists departments with monitoring post-award grant compliance. Follows up with funding agencies and department staff as necessary. Ensures timelines are met. Works with City departments, agencies, authorities, and outside organizations to complete performance reports. + Actively solicits feedback from all stakeholders throughout the grant application and post award process to ensure that goals and timelines are being met. + Assists in the administration of compliance and reporting processes related to grant management, including, but not limited to: preparation of Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), audit reports, quarterly reports, etc. + Assists City personnel with drawdowns and transfers related to grants. + Reviews grant budget and staffing requests (i.e., personnel requisitions and transactions, travel and training requests, capital equipment, facility and vehicle requests). + Tracks and manages grant funded positions, ensuring that Departments are aware of personnel implications. + Maintains records and prepares accurate reports, correspondence, legislation, etc., utilizing financial, database, and spreadsheet software applications (e.g., JD Edwards, Access, Excel, etc.). + Maintains necessary records, files, reports, databases, calendars, and resource materials pertinent to Grants Office activities. + Assists in production of budget documents and other financial reports, as needed. + Manages area of responsibility in strict accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and established policies. + Performs other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
