The Grants and Funding Specialist supports school readiness, project and quality grant programs. Performs grant compliance work such as preparing budgets, preparing reimbursement requests, and responding to audits. Monitors grant awards and serves as fiscal advisor to grant program staff.
Essential Functions:
+ Be the primary fiscal contact for assigned grant partners, understand specific grant requirements, ensure compliance on contract conditions and that reporting requirements are met.
+ Provide financial expertise to grant program staff to analyze program fiscal feasibility, develop grant applications and implement awarded grants.
+ Coordinate budgeting process for assigned grants. Setup projects in accounting software and monitor activity against budget.
+ Prepare and submit monthly reimbursement requests for assigned programs.
+ Assist Manager in preparing internal budgets and quarterly forecasts of grant-related expenses. Support variance analyses as necessary.
+ Provide reimbursement totals for monthly journal entries.
+ Participate in information gathering and preparation of reports and schedules, as necessary to prepare for grantor reviews and audits.
+ Maintain a system of documentation to support grant expenditures, reports and other documents relating to grants, ensuring that all records generated are retained in accordance with grantor and internal guidelines.
+ Prepare and distribute reporting on grant-related spending to internal stakeholders.
+ Effectively and efficiently drive timely resolution regarding any concerns or conflicts that may arise related to grants or funding.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, early childhood, business, or management preferred.
+ Experience in early childhood education or grants fiscal support preferred.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial staff
+ Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with both internal and external customers.
+ Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
+ Proficient time management, organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines.
+ Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Compensation based on position, education and experience. Bi-weekly paid.
+ $26-30.58 hourly rate.
+ This position is also eligible for our Support Central bonus program which is based on annual achievement of company performance.
