The Grant Coordinator hired through this announcement will be hired as Office of Justice Programs staff and will transfer to the Department of Children, Youth and Families in June 2025. The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) at the Department of Public Safety provides leadership and resources to reduce crime, improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, and assist crime victims. The Office of Justice Programs is seeking engaged and innovative individuals to administer state and federal grant programs relating to violence prevention and intervention, youth intervention, criminal justice, restorative practices, and juvenile justice. These positions will manage and monitor state and federally funded grants and provide information, support, training, and technical assistance to grantees. Key responsibilities of the positions may include, but are not limited to: + Manage and monitor a portfolio of state and federally funded grants. + Provide comprehensive grant program administration including development of new grant programs or modification of current grant programs and the execution of competitive funding processes. + Manage federal grant programs. + Lead special projects to improve the efficacy, efficiency, and compliance of grants administration and access to grant programs. + Develop and execute community engagement with and training and technical assistance to potential grant applicants, grant applicants, grantees, community groups, and other stakeholders regarding funding opportunities and grants administration. + Development, implementation, and communication of policies, procedures, and processes related to grants administration. + Provide high levels of customer service and technical assistance to grantees and potential grantees. These positions have the option to telework in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin). If hired and are teleworking, individuals may be asked to return to the permanent work location for a business need and will be expected to return at the individual’s own expense. **Minimum Qualifications** _To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held._ + Three (3) years* work experience with grant/contract administration _*Bachelor’s degree or higher in public or non-profit administration, public policy, accounting, planning, political science, criminal justice, community and economic development, or other closely related field as determined by the agency can substitute for one (1) year of experience,_ _or master’s degree substitutes for eighteen (18) months of experience._ **Applicants that meet the above minimum qualifications will be further evaluated on the following:** + Knowledge of structure and functions of federal, tribal, state, and local units of government. + Experience with the administration and management of grant agreements, contracts, and/or other types of legal agreements. + Experience managing multiple tasks, attention to detail, organization, meeting deadlines, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt to changing circumstances. + Communication skills sufficient to present complex information in plain language to varied audiences including one-on-one communication, written reports, and presentations. + Interpersonal skills sufficient to establish collaborative working relationships with colleagues and partners with varied backgrounds and experiences. + Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. + Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience analyzing, interpreting, and implementing federal and state laws, rules, policies, and procedures related to grant program administration. + Experience designing and implementing new grant programs or modifying existing grant programs based on federal grant requirements or legislative direction. + Experience as a federal grant manager and/or managing sub-awards of federal grants. + Knowledge of principles and practices of project management. + Experience developing, implementing, and communicating technical documents such as policies, procedures, processes, or training materials. + Experience with community engagement, training, and/or technical assistance to potential grant applicants, grant applicants, grantees, community groups, and other stakeholders regarding public funding opportunities and public grants administration. **Physical Requirements** Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools.
