Job Summary:

The Grants Manager will be responsible for the preparation, submission and reporting of grants to both government agencies and private foundations. The Grants Manager will track and maintain records of grant expenditures and AdventHealth Foundation reimbursements and work with the accounting department to ensure complete, accurate and reconciled records. This includes management of the annual external audit of grant funds. The Manager will communicate with faculty and staff, particularly program directors in the preparation for, implementation and reporting of grants. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

You Will Be Responsible For:

Demonstrates behaviors at AdventHealth University in harmony with AHU’s “Four Words” of Nurture, Excellence, Spirituality , and Stewardship as well as AdventHealth’s Performance Standards of “Keep Me Safe, Love Me, Make it Easy, and Own It.”

Leads the process for preparing proposals supporting new and/or special projects including the identification of appropriate team members to gain consensus on the decision to apply, assigning responsibilities for specific writing or gathering of data, and compiling all of the pieces into one draft, reviewing, editing, gaining approval for the draft and submitting the proposal by the deadline

Researches, compiles and analyzes data to update proposals. Prepares grant budgets and budget narratives for grant submissions. Ensures that grant proposals submitted represent overall institutional priorities and goals

Participates in writing grant proposals, progress, final and financial reports. Completes and submits progress, final and financial reports

Verifies all program expenditures to ensure the appropriate use of funds and tracks financial data for philanthropic gifts and grants

Maintains current and accurate communication about grants with internal and external audiences and necessary accounting records as well as being the liaison with the Accounting Department

Contributes to strategic planning, policy and procedure development and assessment for Office of Philanthropy

Remains current with grant regulations published by private foundations and corporations as well as state and federal agencies and manages the grant-related portion of the annual external financial audit of the University to ensure a clean audit each year

Qualifications

What Will You Need:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in scientific or communication field

Grant management experience with federal and state agencies
