Description
We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for an Accounting Manager in Pasadena, California, United States. The role involves overseeing public and private grants activities, ensuring accurate grant billing and reporting, and maintaining strong knowledge of federal, state, and local grants, GAAP requirements, and fiscal and programmatic requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the logistics, preparation, and submission of a portfolio of grant invoices and periodic reports for various funders.
• Lead other Grant Specialists to meet agency objectives in grants management and funder relationships.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, Uniform Guidance Title 2 CFR 200, funder specific regulations/requirements, and internal controls.
• Validate all grant invoicing within contract guidelines and ensure accurate booking of reimbursement requests in the accounting system.
• Assist in the month-end close process by tracking government receivables, booking estimates where applicable, reporting variances, and highlighting potential budget/maximization issues.
• Resolve issues surrounding grant invoices, including disallowed expenses or technical issues, to prevent delays in billing and ensure positive outcomes.
• Perform periodic reconciliations of general ledger accounts and prior months to ensure that all applicable expenses are captured in monthly billing.
• Maintain the grant funding inventory and tracking worksheets, updating annually as grants renew.
• Participate in grant budget review and budget modifications processes.
• Track grant budgets and match requirements monthly to ensure funder compliance and maximum utilization.
Requirements
• Proficiency in GAAP accounting
• Experience with month end close and financial reporting
• Ability to work with Crystal Reports
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Knowledge and experience in Auditing
• Capability to manage Benefit Functions
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Ability to handle Cash Activity
• Proficiency in QuickBooks
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience in managing Government Grants
• Familiarity with Federal Grant
• Skills in Grant Accounting
• Experience in Grant Management
• Proficiency in VLOOKUP
• Familiarity with Excel Formulas
• Experience in Budget allocations
