Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Grants Manager in Glendale, California. In this role, you will work within the industry, controlling the disbursement of student loans and grants, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. You will also act as a liaison between the District and auditors, and assist in external audits.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the disbursement process of financial aid, including grants and student loans.
• Ensure all procedures and policies adhere to state, federal, and county laws, codes, and regulations.
• Assist in the forecasting of income, expenditures, and ending balances of various funds.
• Serve as a liaison between the District and auditors, coordinating annual and interim independent audits.
• Respond to auditor requests for information and prepare detailed schedules and supporting documents.
• Maintain complete transaction records for audit trail requirements.
• Assist in external audits and cooperate with independent auditors.
• Review and implement policies, recommending changes as necessary to maintain compliance.
• Prepare and complete fiscal reports as assigned. Requirements
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant field such as grant management or finance.
• Proficiency in accounting functions and auditing, with a demonstrated ability to manage budgets and cash activity.
• Extensive knowledge of benefit functions, including student financial aid.
• Strong understanding of budget processes, with the ability to create and manage financial forecasts.
• Familiarity with state and federal laws pertaining to grant management.
• Proven experience working with external and independent auditors.
• Strong commitment to compliance, with the ability to ensure all grant activities adhere to the relevant laws and regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Adept at multi-tasking, prioritizing, and managing time efficiently.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field is required. Advanced degree is preferred.
