The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Graphic Artist/Illustrator to support our potential facilities management contract in Panama City, FL.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conception, planning, preparation, and creation of visual materials such as concept renderings, illustrations, publications, logos, diagrams, displays, graphs, objects used in books, magazines pamphlets, exhibits, posters, presentations, live or video recorded speeches or conferences and other means of communicating. Produce complex computer-generated, as well as traditionally created, illustrations and artwork to include perspective renderings, requiring precision hand-eye coordination to draw images by hand and on computer tablets. Use visual elements to communicate messages through print and electronic media. Produce a full range of graphic and visual presentation products and services that meet customer requirements utilizing a variety of electronic and multimedia processes and techniques. Plan, design and execute graphics products that are effective for the medium being used and conveys the customer's message. Select, acquire, scan, edit and format visual material for publications in print and other media using a variety of software tools. Research customer needs personally and/or through meetings. Make initial artistic decisions for color schemes, lighting, size and placement of material to be presented. Prepare some or all of the task's materials, such as photographs, illustrations, charts and legends. Utilize mainstream computer graphics, video editing, and publication software to include the following: MS Office, CorelDRAW®, Adobe® Creative Suite, Corel® Painter®, etc. to produce visual information products.Dry-mount, matte, and frame images and posters as needed. Required to work in both MS Windows and MAC environments.Other duties as needed.REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
Associate degree or equivalent education in Fine Arts or Commercial ArtsREQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of related full-time work experience in graphic arts and technical illustration. Demonstrated experience producing artist concept renderings, technical illustrations, and graphic designs. Demonstrated experience selecting and working with various forms of art media, from traditional pen and ink, acrylics, oils, and watercolors to modern digital tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Painter, and Microsoft Office, as well as various other graphics-related applications. Skilled in determining composition, design, and appropriate media to be used in order to depict a broad range of technical concepts in support of scientific and engineering customers. Demonstrated experience in working with a broad range of applications as mentioned above, as well as the hardware associated with these applications, such as scanners, tablets, large-format printers, photo printers, and color copiers. Position requires the submission of a portfolio demonstrating proof of talent and skills within this discipline.Additional skill sets such as three-dimensional (3-D) modeling and animation applications are desirable but not requiredREQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
