Graphic Design Intern
HBK Engineering is searching for a Graphic Design Intern. Our firm offers a professional work environment that allows interns to work with the marketing team to implement design goals. As an Intern, you will work in an incredibly fast-paced business where you can make a real impact and contribute to the organization's graphic design needs. You will work closely with our Marketing team to create and develop design materials, ensuring they align with company standards, facilitating the proposal process, and guiding the final draft process.

Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:Assist in developing, organizing, updating, and formatting graphic design collateral (resumes, project sheets, project lists, etc.), while maintaining consistency, quality, and corporate branding.Collaborate with the marketing manager and technical staff to assist in preparing RFQs/RFPs and high-quality custom design packages.Assist in developing marketing material following brand standards for internal and external communications to drive excitement for programs.Assist in maintaining the company website (projects, news posts, locations).Coordinate corporate photography across multiple offices.Assist with the execution of HBK IMPACT employee volunteer program events.Assist with administrative tasks for ongoing marketing programs.Minimum Qualifications:Working toward a BS in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, and entering Junior/Senior year.Strong verbal and written communication skills required.Proficiency in Premiere Pro and Canva.Proficiency in Office 365 and Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Essential skills and experience:Ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong graphic skillsStrong copywriting/editing capabilitiesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects, time managementDetail-oriented, with an eye toward understanding overall firm goalsMust have excellent interpersonal skills and follow-up skills, reporting progress/support needs/improvements on projectsMust have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize projects in a changing environmentProactive problem prevention and issue resolutionValued but not required skills and experience:Familiarity with web design and basic HTML/CSS.Hours :Part-time 15-25 Hours are between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. so a flex schedule within business hours is preferred.
Travel: Minimal travel required, Carroll Office
Primary office: Van Buren Chicago, IL
