Graphic Designer

Job Summary:
Conceptualize, design, and produce accurate electronic file mechanicals for packaging, displays, brochures, and various printed materials with a focus on branded and private label products.

Job Requirements:

BA or BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent combination of education and experience (degree preferred) Minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience as a graphic artist, with a preference for package design experience Proficiency in Mac environment with mastery of Adobe Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, and Acrobat Knowledge of pre-press requirements and print technology for offset, flexo, and digital printing Familiarity with various software formats (PDF, PNG, JPEG, EPS, TIFF, BMP, GIF, Targa, PICT, etc.) Portfolio demonstrating ability to create effective designs

Job Responsibilities:

Conceptualize, design, and produce electronic file mechanicals for packaging, displays, brochures, flyers, coupons, labels, and other collateral materials Interpret Package Design Briefs into creative designs that communicate product benefits, brand equities, and meet marketing/legal requirements Develop graphic designs that align with customer guidelines and best practices Collaborate with internal colleagues to understand business objectives and create compelling creative designs Create hand-packed, mocked-up, camera-ready packaging for marketing, customer photo shoots, and planograms Acquire knowledge of packaging requirements for the U.S. and Canada Photograph packaging and products, providing color-corrected and appropriately formatted images Produce accurate electronic mechanical files and documentation for digital, offset, and flexo printing

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Experience in designing for consumer products/packaging, displays, illustration ability, and photography Illustration/drawing ability for creating computer-designed package artwork Experience in interpreting client objectives and translating them into appealing designs Knowledge of typography usage and ability to create clean, print-ready mechanical layouts in Illustrator Understanding of digital content creation and use of digital cameras Experience working with printers and knowledge of Pantone, Extended Gamut, and process printing Ability to manage projects, change priorities as needed, and work under pressure Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Familiarity with vector and raster effects, and using online transport media and FTP

Pay Details: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour
