What You Will Do:
We are currently searching for a Graphic Designer. This role shall provide services in support of the overall functions of the Associate Director of Management and Operations, Vaccine Research Center (VRC), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This is a full-time onsite position supporting the NIH office in Bethesda, MD.
Develop visual, illustrated, and graphic design communication products, including scientific/technical figures and illustrations, organizational branding materials, announcements, and PowerPoint slides.
Develop specialized branding, illustrations, and graphic design materials covering complex subject matter areas for various purposes and audiences.
Develop content to support internal and external messaging and communication needs, including internal SharePoint site, scientific posters (design, layout, formatting, and printing), internal newsletter (drafting, formatting, publishing), infographics conveying both technical/scientific and non-technical information, meeting materials, and signage.
Assist with the development of messaging and other products to communicate research successes and promote capabilities, highlights, and other messaging needs.
Assist in ensuring that all public messages, materials, and strategies for target audiences are credible, clear, and meaningful.
Monitor the effectiveness of media campaigns through traditional and social media channels, assess results and report findings.
Perform site administration functions related to updating content and design and managing site settings and security protocols.
Coordinate photographic and video graphic resources to capture quality imagining and footage for posting to social media and Internet sites with appropriate captions.

What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of ONE (1) year of Commercial Art and Graphic Design, and/or related experience.
Demonstrated ability to visually communicate both non-technical and basic scientific ideas to the general public.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.), SharePoint, publishing software, graphic design software, and/or illustration software (BioRender, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc.).
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Previous experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH).
The annual salary range for this position is $49,800.00-$74,800.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
