Job Description

Telemundo Network is seeking a Graphic Designer (Nightshift) to join our dynamic award-winning team in our Miami, FL headquarters. You will work in our News Division assisting with all aspects of broadcast production graphics for live news shows and special projects. Designing concepts from inception to delivery.

The Graphic Designer for this position must be able to work flexible hours and have knowledge of live-news graphics workflows. They must be able to respond quickly to breaking news and follow established protocols. Additionally, they will collaborate with the graphics producer and team to support the team in a 24/7 production environment. This role requires covering the nightshift and providing daily graphics support to the live shows.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides the daily graphics support for all the News shows on the nightshift, collaborating with producers, and other designers to create, build, and integrate assets.Works well under pressure while delivering the daily graphics with tight deadlines.Produces high-quality design solutions quickly, adhering to composition, layout, typography, and color palette standards.Take projects from idea to concept, from production to launch, ensuring excellence, alignment, and quality of design thinking throughout. Create innovative design across our news consumer touchpoints, from broadcast to digital.Inspires and motivates others to perform at their best. Sets high standards and aims to improve the work environment, promoting a positive and productive workplace.Communicates easily and openly with team members, producers, and managers.Demonstrate risk-taking and innovation and push skills by looking for creative opportunities in each task. 

 

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum 5 years working in the broadcast/ digital graphics industry.Highly organized with good attention to detail and eye for final pixel.Able to work in high-pressure production environments.Understanding of live-news graphics workflows.Strong knowledge of layout, color theory, composition, typography, layout, and animation.Strong knowledge of typography, layout, and animation with GFX.Advanced knowledge of After Effects and the Adobe suite.Collaborate with video editors, producers, and other designers to create, build, and integrate assets. Actively participate in brainstorm sessions and support creative teams as needed.Works effectively with Design Directors, Producers, and other team members.Highly developed interpersonal skills and time management skills.Must work well multitasking to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects.Must submit a link to a current demo reel to be considered for the role.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

Proficient in Adobe Suite and Cinema4DKnowledge of Adobe XD, Flowics and FigmaExperience in creating looks for broadcast franchises is a plus.Experience in working with news producers.Bilingual English and Spanish
