This position to support and advance vision-related education, training, and readiness projects on behalf of the Vision Center of Excellence at the Defense Health Agency. The graphic designer will develop visual ideas and designs using digital tools or illustrations that accompany the written text to communicate clear messages to engage and inform audiences. Working with stakeholders, he/she will manage the design projects and timelines from conception to delivery. DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES: + Develop innovative and visually engaging design concepts aligned with brand guidelines and project objectives. + Manage design projects from initial brief to final delivery, managing timelines and client expectations. Engage in the strategic design direction on projects, including color palettes, typography, and visual style. + Collaborate with staff and clients to understand their needs, present design concepts, and address feedback effectively. + Stay abreast of current design trends and government best practices to incorporate innovative elements into designs. + Create a range of graphic assets including logos, website graphics, print ads, social media visuals, infographics, and presentations. + Have technical expert knowledge of design software: Adobe Creative Suite, (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Camtasia, Lightroom Classic for image management, and Premier Pro video editor is a plus. + Other duties as assigned by Supervisor. REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor degree in a related field. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: + A minimum of five plus (5+) years of professional graphic design experience in a similar role. + Strong Visual Design Skills – have an excellent eye for composition, color theory, typography, and layout. + Ability to generate creative digital media content + Strong written and verbal communication skills – be able to translate complex information to simple key message + Experience working in a dynamic and at times fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines + Proficiency in industry-standard design software and file formats (Adobe Creative Suite, (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Camtasia, Lightroom Classic for image management) + A strong portfolio showcasing diverse design skills and successful projects REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE: + U.S. Citizenship Required. + Ability to pass a Tier 1 background check.
