BAE Systems, Space & Mission Systems is seeking a Graphic Designer/Technical Illustrator II to join our Marketing & Communications department. The Graphic Designer/Technical Illustrator II will primarily support proposal graphic production in support of new business, as well as the development of 2D graphics for events, marketing and internal communications. The Marketing & Communications Department works collaboratively across the Space & Mission Systems sector and our stakeholder community to increase our profile in the market. This position is based in Broomfield, CO.
The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic Capabilities Unit, consists of Washington DC Operations, Marketing & Communications and Strategic Development. The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and industry to influence and drive growth and facilitate collaboration across the business enterprise to increase opportunities.
**What You ll Do:**
+ Use graphics software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite, to illustrate technical data and concepts for business proposals, program briefings, white papers and other documentation.
+ Develop data plots, tables, infographics, functional block diagrams, technical graphics, high level operational concept graphics (OV-1s) and other illustrations to support business pursuits and processes.
+ Use graphic software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Visio, and Microsoft Office Suite, to provide back up support for creating new or updating existing marketing creative and branding materials for internal and external use, such as brochures, tradeshow booth designs, advertising, employee communications, events, posters and more.
+ Comfortable with 3D rendering software for developing proposal renderings.
+ Consult with subject matter experts to understand their technical solutions, then create compelling visual representations to effectively illustrate their concepts.
+ Apply company-specific publication standards, branding elements, style guides, and best practices to create high-quality, branded professional content in all materials developed.
+ Collaborate with the SMS Brand Guardians to ensure consistency of design with BAE Systems branding guidelines.
+ Ensure all designs are developed with the highest quality and align with the company brand and strategy.
+ Provide additional internal and external communications support, as assigned.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
**On-Site Work Environment:** This position requires regular in-person engagement by working **on-site five days** each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
**Working Conditions:**
+ Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ BS/BA degree plus 2 or more years of related experience in technical illustration.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ A current, active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required.
+ Extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
+ Excellent skills in Microsoft products, including Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, Planner, SharePoint, Project and Outlook.
+ Exceptional visual communication skills.
+ Attention to detail.
+ Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously, under deadline pressure with fast turnarounds.
+ Ability to engage with technically minded subject matter experts, grasp key concepts, and analyze and distill information into technically accurate, understandable visual representations of data.
+ Customer minded approach to creating visuals by being receptive to multiple rounds of edits and incorporating feedback in a timely and professional manner.
+ Experience working under brand guidelines.
+ Experience with and the ability to collaborate and coordinate with individuals and teams at all levels, including senior-level executives.
+ Experience setting up designs to print specifications.
+ Ability to identify and implement visual design elements to improve readability, accessibility, and understanding.
+ Ability to quickly learn new skills, new products or technical knowledge; stay current on new trends, ideas, technologies.
+ Ability to maintain a predictable work schedule with occasional flexibility for evening or weekend work to meet deadlines, as needed.

**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Degrees in Technical Illustration, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communications, Marketing, Business, Data Analysis/Visualization, or Computer Science.
+ Experience developing graphics for proposals and other technical documents.
+ Working knowledge of design systems and software required for developing proposal renderings (Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Cinema 4D (Arnold / Houdini), Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, Maya)
+ General interest in science and technology.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $64130.000 - $109010.000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
