Job Description: Green Software & Sustainable Product Design Intern

Position: 

AVEVA, a leader in industrial software, is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking intern to contribute to our sustainability initiatives by focusing on green software development and sustainable product design principles tailored to industrial applications. The intern will also assist in developing methodologies for Scope 3, Category 11 (Use of Sold Products) emissions calculations, with a specific focus on how AVEVA’s industrial software products are used by customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainable industrial software practices and emissions analysis within the context of real-world industrial applications such as energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Research Support

Conduct research on green software engineering practices specifically relevant to industrial software solutions, with a focus on improving energy efficiency, minimizing resource consumption, and reducing the overall environmental footprint of AVEVA's software products.Support the theoretical development of sustainable product design principles that focus on energy-efficient software for industrial processes such as process automation, data analytics, and operational control.Investigate how emerging technologies and green software solutions can optimize industrial workflows and contribute to reduced emissions during the use of AVEVA’s products.

Scope 3 Emissions Methodology & Calculations:

Assist in developing and refining methodologies for calculating Scope 3, Category 11 emissions, focusing on how AVEVA’s industrial software products are used by customers in sectors such as oil & gas, energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.Collaborate with sustainability and product teams to improve emissions calculations and identify opportunities to reduce the environmental impact of AVEVA’s software during customer use.

Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.Interest in sustainability, green software, or energy-efficient technologies for industrial applications.Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with data.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range:  

The pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation that the position offers, and final compensation can vary within the range depending on work location, job experience, skills, and relevant educational attainment and/or training.

Salary Range:

$52,500.00 - $87,500.00
