Position Summary

The Green Team will contribute to Mt. Bachelor's Play Forever mission by supporting sustainable waste management efforts at the 2025 RendezVan festival. Green Team members will be responsible for managing waste streams, ensuring proper waste sorting, educating guests, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for event guests.

Major Responsibilities/ Daily Essential Functions

Waste Management

Manage all recycling, composting, and landfill waste within the event footprint (West Village Base area, excluding lodges and buildings). 

Maintain guest-facing waste receptacles by ensuring they are clean and functioning properly. 

Transport waste from guest-facing receptacles to the sorting area or roll-off containers using a side-by-side vehicle. 

Sorting and Tracking

Monitor and educate waste receptacles to ensure guests dispose of waste in the correct stream: Landfill, Commingled Recycling, Glass, Cardboard, and Compost. 

Participate in waste sorting. 

Keep the sorting area organized, clean, and safe. 

Track and record the metrics of each waste stream as directed by the supervisor. 

Teamwork and Customer Interaction 

Be kind and respectful to guests and staff, ensuring a positive experience for everyone at the event. 

Collaborate with Mt. Bachelor staff in a respectable manner and adhere to resort policies and procedures. 

Requirements

Interest in environmental sustainability and waste management. 

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. 

Ability to follow instructions and work in a team setting. 

Must be available for pre-event orientation in mid-April and work multiple days during the event (April 16 – April 19). Daily hours will range between 10a-9p.

Must be physically able to lift, move, and sort waste materials up to 30 pounds.

Current Hiring Rate: $20/hr
