POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for daily tasks in greenhouse to ensure that all aspects of greenhouse operations to support corn trait introgression projects.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Flexible work schedule Perform daily greenhouse cleaning and organizing to maintain plant integrity Utilize safe work ethic and techniques following protocols Perform greenhouse activities including planting, watering, leaf sampling, pollinating, harvesting, and shelling. Maintaining a sterile environment while performing embryo rescue activities Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge or interest in greenhouse

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Excellent organization skills and ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently to meet deadlines and facility objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn multiple computer software programs for data collection and data retrieval. Excellent attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Previous experience with plant tissue culture preferred, but not required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Flexible work hours include weekends Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
