Job Description

Position Summary

Grind parts to conform to blueprints/drawings

Duties and Responsibilities

The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.  Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons

Operate grinding machines while maintaining blueprint specificationsWith assistance from the Team Lead or Supervisor, verify tolerances by performing inspectionReport any variances to the supervisorBring completed orders to shippingMaintain a clean work environmentComply with all safety and sanitation regulationsUse all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and instructed

Physical Requirements

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

 

Lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistanceAble to stand for long periods of time

Work Environment

Majority of the work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to highPPE required as determined by company safety standards:  safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, safety shoes

 

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent preferredMinimum 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing environmentEnthusiastic to learn the trade of precision grindingComfort level working around machinery in a fast-paced environmentBasic knowledge of measurement tools including micrometers (digital or dial), roundness gauge, comparator, cylindricity gaugeAbility to follow written and verbal instructions given in EnglishComputer skills, intermediate knowledge Microsoft OfficeAbility to read blueprintsMust be able to meet quality and entry level productivity standardsStrong attention to detailAbility to work as part of a team
