We are currently seeking a skilled Grinder Operator to join our team at the rendering plant

This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for any grinder operator opening.  These openings require standing for long periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, shoveling, climbing stairs up to 120 feet and ladders up to 60 feet, bending, stretching, reaching,  working in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.  Must be able to use basic hand tools and perform basic mechanical and maintenance functions.  Maintain clean work area by use of soap and high pressure hoses. Must be able to read and complete required logs.   Must be able to communicate with supervisor and co-workers via two-way radio.  May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.  May be required to operate frontend loader, manlift, or forklift and will be required to obtain certification to do so.  Will be required to learn all aspects of meat and offal rendering from meat cookers to classifier.  Must monitor and convey information on controls, relay temperature, gate positions and speeds to other team members.  Must be able to operate hammer mill type grinders, conveyors, meat presses, and work with control room operator to start up and shut down meat cookers. The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications:

At least one year of experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial setting.
