**Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor**
**Job Description**
This role involves general production labor, primarily rough grinding work. The job requires good hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow basic written instructions and simple diagrams. With readily available supervision, you will use rotary or belt sanding tools to rough grind castings, remove burrs, or finish weld seams. The work may include inspecting parts for voids in welds or casting. The job typically requires hearing protection and other personal protective equipment and may be repetitive in nature.
**Responsibilities**
+ Grind castings to remove excess material within assigned time and productivity requirements.
+ Inspect castings for defects.
+ Use jigs or fixtures to check castings when appropriate.
+ Appropriately place castings in boxes or on pallets.
+ Meet all company work schedule and attendance expectations and perform within the physical and environmental demands of the job.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience with power tools and hand tools.
+ Ability to use grinders and perform deburring, grinding, and polishing.
+ Experience in production and inspection.
+ Carpentry skills.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Ability to read and write.
+ Basic computer skills and experience.
+ Ability to work in a team.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 3+ months of experience in a production/manufacturing role.

You will be working in a large foundry with 75 other workers, standing most of the day and performing repetitive grinding tasks.
