These positions are full-time and pay $13 per hour including full benefits (below), and work at the Indy Fresh Market location on the northeast side of Indianapolis (address is 6002 E 38th St, Indianapolis, IN 46226).
Indy Fresh Market is a new full-service grocery store located near the Cook Medical manufacturing facility on 38th and Sheridan. In partnership with Goodwill of Central and Southern Indiana (GCSI), the store will provide additional jobs and future educational opportunities for residents while also bringing a much-needed food source to the community.
The Grocery Associate assists the store management team in reaching the operational goals of the site by functioning in various capacities within the Grocery Store. The various areas the Grocery Associate may be called upon to learn and work include: Cashier, Center Store, Produce, Cart Attendant, Dairy or Freezer.
Example Duties and Activities
Cashier Responsibilities:
Efficiently process customer transactions, maintaining accuracy and ensuring a balanced cash drawer.
Strictly adhere to all cash handling procedures and protocols.
Inform customers about Goodwill programs and services, offering assistance and general information.
Direct more complex inquiries to the appropriate associate or manager.
Keep the register area and assigned grocery aisles clean and well-organized.
Customer Service:
Welcome and greet customers with warmth and courtesy.
Aid customers in locating products, providing details on availability, prices, and promotions.
Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Provide an easy, seamless shopping experience by keeping carts and baskets well stocked and clean for guests
Stocking and Merchandising:
Receive and unload merchandise from delivery trucks.
Arrange products on shelves, racks, and displays according to company guidelines.
Regularly rotate products to maintain freshness and remove expired items.
Ensure shelves and displays are orderly and visually appealing.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and visually appealing store environment.
Perform regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and wiping down counters.
Keep equipment like shopping carts and hand baskets clean and in good condition.
Dispose of trash and recycling in designated areas.
Inventory Management:
Monitor inventory levels and promptly report low stock items to management.
Assist in conducting routine inventory counts and reconciliations.
Aid in the receiving and verification of shipments to ensure accuracy.
