Key Responsibilities:As a Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Utility Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced GSE Maintenance Operations department. The GSE Utility Specialist plays a very important role in providing quality service to our internal customers and performs work in accordance with guidelines established in the collective bargaining agreement.
Identifying and checking tools, test equipment and certain commodities in and out of the warehouse, as well as the servicing, receiving, cleaning, transportation, inventory storage and accounting of tools, test equipment, parts and commodities used in the daily operation.Perform routine maintenance tasks of general nature, such as servicing and transporting equipment.Light maintenance tasks such as replacing head light/tail lights, wiper blades, oil changes, excluding trouble-shooting.Routine fluid and vehicle operational inspections.Limited cart and dolly work, excluding welding and major structural repairs.Surface treatment on engines, aircraft, and component parts with chemicals and sandblasting equipment.Automotive and light truck tire build up and servicing.Perform minor repairs on food service equipment.Assist Technicians with work as requestedPerform minor repairs on food service equipmentGSE Utility Specialists are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT)Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United ContractNew employees are required to join the unionGSE Utility Specialists must be able to work around the clock shifts including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditionsSchedules are bid and awarded according to seniorityOther tasks as assigned and outlined in the CBAFind your future at United We’re reinventing what our industry looks like, and what an airline can be – from the planes we fly to the people who fly them.
