Northrop Grumman Space Systems Tactical Division is seeking a Ground Software Development Lead to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on the Phoenix program in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical and operational leadership to the cross-functional development teams for day-to-day execution. The individual will have responsibility in guiding program activities related to design, development, and testing by focusing on delivering solutions and removing roadblocks. This position requires a combination of project management, process optimization, technical proficiency and execution skills. To be successful, you will need a high degree of collaboration skills with the ability to provide insight into the status of multiple efforts at various levels of leadership.
Essential Responsibilities:
Drive execution among the development teams to meet program objectives and milestonesFacilitate communication and collaboration across teams to drive efficiencyAssist in the development of the Ground Segment technical roadmap in collaboration with systems engineering, ensuring alignment with program goalsMeasure and report program performance through development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM)Manage risk, issue and opportunity processes. Identify potential risks and opportunities that could impact program performance and take proactive action to resolve issues regarding cost and scheduleCommunicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings at technical and program reviews and boardsAbility to be proactive by monitoring risk and health reports, candidate must have a proven track record of managing several scrum teams (6+) that are spread out geographicallyTo be successful in this role, you should have:

Must have an active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a SAP clearance at time of applicationBachelor’s degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field from an accredited university with 9+ years experience OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 7+ years experience OR a PhD with 4+ years. Experience can be considered in lieu of degree9+ years’ experience of software leadership experience with a history of people management and operational excellence. Demonstrated track record of successful mentorship and accelerating reports growth, being an effective multiplier for the teamBasic understanding and working experience with Earned Value ManagementExperience running a high-paced product development team across multiple locations and time zones, and reacting effectively to changes in Customer prioritizationDemonstrated success managing complex software development projects for an enterprise software company or startupPreferred Qualifications:
9+ years in software engineering or similar role. Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
