Ground Support Equipment Mechanic
Summary CHENEGA FACILITIES MANAGEMENT LLC Ft. Sill, OK The Ground Support Equipment Mechanic maintains, repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls, power generation, air conditioning, and other quartermaster equipment. Responsibilities Determines equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations. Solve problems by using manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Diagnoses, repairs, and installs equipment to include: gasoline and diesel-powered generators, decontamination apparatus, electric motors, light towers, air conditioners, pressure washers, steam cleaners, air compressors, wiring harnesses, printed circuit, starters, and other equipment as required. May be required to wear a respirator. Other duties as assigned Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent. Completion of formal military or civilian training in power systems, electronics, and soldering. The soldering course must meet Mil-Standard 2000. Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a power systems’ mechanic, worker, or helper. ASE/C.F.C certifications in air conditioning reclamation, recycle and recovery R-12 to R502 refrigerants. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in electronics trouble shooting repair at the general support level. Depot level experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of commercial vehicle maintenance. Working knowledge of military air conditioning systems Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) for computer access.
