Ground Support Equipment Mechanic
**Job Title: GSE Technician** **Job Description** We are looking to add four GSE Technicians to our team to perform preventative maintenance on a variety of ground support equipment. The role involves maintaining and repairing up to 600 pieces of equipment, including tugs, pushbacks, and belts. Most of the work focuses on preventative maintenance such as oil changes and brake jobs, but as the fleet ages, there will be an increasing need for repair work. **Responsibilities** + Perform preventative maintenance on a variety of ground support equipment, including tugs, pushbacks, and belts. + Execute basic maintenance assignments involving automotive, electrical, systems, and other related trade skill sets. + Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager’s instructions. + Seek guidance and expertise from Expert mechanics and accept training and mentoring from them. + Ensure safety, environmental, and OSHA compliance in all tasks. **Essential Skills** + Basic hand tools + Automotive mechanic experience + Heavy equipment experience + Diesel engine maintenance + Preventative maintenance experience + Hydraulic system knowledge + Engine diagnostics and troubleshooting + Tire technician skills + High school diploma or GED + Clean driving record **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + 2+ years of experience as a mechanic (diesel, auto, hydraulics) + Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot engine and brake issues + Must provide own basic set of hand tools + Flexible on schedule/shift + Must be open to working holidays **Why Work Here?** We provide hands-on training and ensure that new technicians are well-prepared before working independently. A SIDA badge is required, and technicians will be driving on the tarmac. The role involves working an average of 8-10 hours a week, with more hours common in the fall/winter. The shift is Tuesday to Saturday from 10 AM to 6:30 PM. Tools are required, and a list is available upon request. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dulles, Virginia. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
