Job Summary Summary: This is a position that requires minimal supervision and requires routine labor associated with sports field management and general light maintenance. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a focus on turf & landscape pests including weeds, insects, disease and other disorders. The applicator will work closely with the Assistant Athletics Director of Grounds to assure quality and safety on site as required by OSHA, ANSI, EPA, State and local agencies as applications are made to the athletic fields / venues at the University of South Florida. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Follow schedules for the management of turf and landscape following IPM protocol and equipment/ tools used in operations. + Ensure that all work performed is completed in a safe manner for both the employee and the student’s athletes using the athletic fields. + Familiar with calibration and maintenance of spraying equipment + Ability to keep accurate records of all work performed in accordance with State of Florida requirements + Provides quality customer service to customers by providing one-on-one attention to detail. + Inspects common areas and reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor. + Inspects exterior of the property and grounds; reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor. + Mows lawns weekly during the proper season. Cleans landscaping tools and equipment after each use. + Trims bushes to maintain neat appearance and desired shape. + Weeds flowerbeds weekly or more often if needed. + Shovels exterior walkways during wintery weather; salts or sands icy walkways as needed. + Contributes to the team; facilitates good customer interactions; exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others with whom there is contact. + Performs other duties as assigned.
