Job Overview:
The Grounds Laborer will perform work in accordance with the PWS requirements of the Branch, i.e., mowing, raking, weed abatement, tree trimming, weed eating, planting of shrubs, trees (up to 6 feet), grass, fertilizing, street maintenance and policing of areas listed in the PWS.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Perform a wide variety of labor tasks involved in the maintenance of facilities, street maintenance equipment and grounds at the Fort Irwin National Training Center. Labor tasks provided to assist trades people in the repair and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and grounds at the Fort Irwin National Training Center and occasionally the Barstow Dagget Airfield. Participation in all APTIM/HDSS EHS and Quality procedures. Must be able to act professionally in the presence of the public and co-workers. Must be able to accurately track time, work orders, and parts using electronic devices.Basic Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: Working knowledge of landscaping equipment. Licenses: Must possess a valid California driver's license.Working Conditions: Position: Extensive periods outdoors. Frequent exposure to dust, desert pollen, extreme heat and cold
associated with desert environment and natural conditions existing on Fort Irwin.
Work Week: Monday -- Friday, 0700-1530
