This Opportunity

VGS is seeking a qualified Grounds Laborer to provide support to the US Navy and other US government agencies at Comalapa Air Base, El Salvador under the Base Operations Support contract. 

 Your Impact  

Responsible for maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and functional outdoor space Install and/or repair sprinkler and irrigation systems Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc. Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning and mulching  Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, watering plants, planting flowers and shrubbery Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment (Operator Level Maintenance) Scheduling specialty services such as ground leveling or patio installation Ordering supplies and equipment Assist preparation for special occasions and/or Ceremony. 

Who You Are 

Required Qualifications  

Speak English and Spanish and be able to read and understand (in both English and Spanish) printed regulations, detailed written orders, operating procedures, and training instructions and material Ability to lift 50 pounds Familiarity with sprinkler systems and other landscaping equipment Knowledge of gardening techniques Knowledge of gardening products such as fertilizers and pesticides Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods of time A valid driver’s license
