JOB SUMMARY: Job Title: Grounds Maintenance Technician

REQUIREMENTS: Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Requires physical stamina. Work outdoors, in extreme temperatures, and in adverse weather. No education or experience required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chain-saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, and pruning saws. Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and brush trimmers, and axes. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Mow and edge/trim lawns, using power mowers and edgers. Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing and removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls. Follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers and foliage. Lay sod. Haul or spread topsoil, and spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place. Trim and pick flowers, and clean flower beds. Rake, mulch, and compost leaves. Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws. Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, and shrubs, and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools. Gather and remove litter. Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, and benches, using hand and power tools. Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, and other grounds features. Maintain irrigation systems, including winterizing the systems and starting them up in spring.

WORK LOCATION(S): Fort Stewart Hinesville, GA 31313 and Hunter Army Airfield Savannah, GA 31409 and multiple worksites within Chatham, Liberty and Toombs counties. 

WORK SCHEDULE:  The standard workday is from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Employer will offer 40 hours per week. Employer may offer more than the stated 
work hours, depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect working hours. Employer makes all payroll 
deductions required by law. Employer does not envision other workforce-wide payroll deductions
