POSITION: Grounds Manager
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Assistant Head Groundskeeper
FLSA STATUS: Hourly, $34.50/hr
SUMMARY
ASM GLOBAL, the leader in privately managed public facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Grounds Manager at ASM GLOBAL Oakland Arena and Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. This position reports directly to the Assistant Head Groundskeeper.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist Head Groundskeeper, Assistant Head Groundskeeper and any grounds staff with the daily maintenance of Oakland Coliseum playing field.Work as a groundskeeper for all field events that take place on the Oakland Coliseum field.Assist with any necessary changeovers regarding the Oakland Coliseum playing field.Assist with all aspects of the playing field maintenance including but not limited to mowing, fertilizing, painting, edging, turf care and divot repair.Assist with any necessary field repair and turf replacements throughout the year.Oversee part-time grounds crew staff.Qualifications/Requirements:
Must be available to work all scheduled field events- including nights, weekends and holidaysMust be able to operate all field maintenance equipmentMust be able to lift upwards of 50lbs.Must have prior experience in professional turf maintenanceASM reserves the right to change or modify the employee’s job description whether orally or in writing, at any time during the employment relationship. Move and walk extensively around the facility.
Stand for long hours during events.
Kneel, stoop, reach, crawl and climb to high walkways.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds up to 10 minutes at a time.
Perform work through repetitive eye/hand coordination.
Able to balance and have good manual dexterity.
Work inside and outside of buildings.
Experience exposure to adverse conditions such as weather and loud noises.
May occasionally have to enter areas where fumes, airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals are present which will require ability to use respirator and/or other PPE.
