Job Location: Monday-Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm OnSite - Altamonte Springs, FL

The role you’ll contribute:

The Grounds Manager is responsible for landscape strategy, maintenance and design at all Corporate Region Facilities. They will manage the daily operations of a ground’s services team, actively participate in outstanding customer service, and commit to promoting our culture of excellence.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Develops and implements a wholistic landscaping program, including irrigation management, pest / weed control and rotation of beautifying plants around the campuses.

• Routine Grounds Maintenance - Plans, manages and performs grounds maintenance operations. These operations include mowing, trimming, horticultural work, tree work, leaf removal, and mulching

• Water Management – Maintains compliance with the rules and regulations of City, County, State, St. John's Water Management District and Southwest Florida Management District for the Corporate Campus and any outlier facilities. Responsible for oversight and maintenance of irrigation systems at all properties within the Corporate Campuses. Involved in the design and implementation of irrigation infrastructure to ensure maximum efficiency utilizing the principles of water conservation while taking into consideration future use of surrounding properties

• Budget - Monitors grounds budget for labor hours and material purchases

• Supply and Equipment Management – Oversight of securing tools and equipment needed to maintain all AdventHealth landscaping.

• Management of Employees – Mentor, develop and engage staff. Conduct annual performance reviews, council employees and disciplines as needed. Evaluates employee productivity and workload.

• Consistently looks for process and performance improvement opportunities in design, creativity, quality, customer service, aesthetics, cleanliness, accountability, and leadership.

• Continuously monitors facility key performance indicators, ensuring goals are successfully met.

• Identifies and removes barriers and provides solutions in their place.

• Manages Vendors performing services related to grounds work; ponds, fountains, bridges cleaning / maintenance

• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED:

• Thorough knowledge of horticultural landscaping systems including sustainability practices

• Solid management and effective communication skills to lead a diverse team

• Ability to build effective work teams

• Ability to assist in maintaining man-hours and supply costs

• Ability to manage the day activities in supervising staff including training, hiring, terminations, orienting and evaluating performance

• Knowledge about best environmental practices

• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Grad or Equivalent and 5 years experience

• 2 years Leadership Experience

PREFERRED

• Bachelor's degree in business, Horticulture, or related field

• Pesticide Application Certification by Massey Services or similar pest control agency

• Certified Grounds Manager designation by APWA / PGMS (American Public Works Administration or the Professional Grounds Management Society) or similar organization.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

High School Grad or Equivalent and 5 years experience 2 years Leadership Experience

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Seven years of experience

• Three years of leadership/management experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the Grounds Services staff

Three Must Have Competencies/Skills:

· Landscape design / management

· Team Management

· Written and Verbal English
