Included in the POWDR portfolio, is Stovepipe Wells located in Death Valley National Park, operated under a long-term concessions contract with the National Park Service.
Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go café, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening.
Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.
Job Summary:
The Groundkeeper is responsible for maintaining the outdoor grounds of Zion Lodge, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees. This position involves a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks, utilizing various tools and equipment while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Help maintain grounds by performing tasks such as: Raking, blowing, and push mowing. String trimming and edging. Mulching, planting, seeding, and sodding.
Aerification and general cleanup duties
Operate and maintain equipment including but not limited to: Push mowers, backpack blowers, edgers, and spray equipment. Weed eaters, small vehicles, and sidewinder equipment
Use and care for hand tools and equipment issued on the job.
Respond to emergency storm events (e.g., snow, tornadoes, hurricanes).
Manage garbage/trash removal from all departments while overseeing recycling efforts.
Transport recyclables to designated locations as determined by management and/or National Park Services.
Distribute and empty recyclable containers throughout the property on a regular schedule.
Prepare, maintain, and submit necessary records on the amounts (in lbs per product) of recycled materials to location management.

Work Location:
Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable.
Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.
Ability to requirements and compliance with our concessions contract.

Must be over the age of 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to withstand a range of outside weather conditions (heat/cold, rain/snow) including prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Ability to lift, push, pull a minimum of 70 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, knee, crouch, reach for an extended period of time.
