POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs routine and extensive grounds keeping and conducts building maintenance on YMCA facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Outdoor Grounds Maintenance Venice, Englewood, SKY Englewood Academy, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte CDCMow all grass areas, edge, trim and blowWeed control in all bedsMulch as neededTrim shrubs and trees as neededInstall plants and shrubs as neededEnglewood Soccer FieldsFollow plan of fertilizing and weed control.Venice Baseball FieldsMow Baseball FieldsMaintain EquipmentTractors, mowers, etc.Irrigation SystemPeriodically inspect to ensure all heads are working properly* TBDOtherAssist Maintenance Staff as needed with other duties and projects as requiredResponsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department. QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Able to prioritize and meet deadlinesWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.Successfully meet the association requirements on background screening.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Infant/child CPR & First AidAnnual completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens trainingAnnual completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention classStaff Safety Requirements/Cleaning ProtocolsAdditional training classes as recommended by supervisor. Salary Description $18.00/hr
