ResponsibilitiesHelp consumers to regain control over their lives through self-directed recovery by providing services identified in treatment/recovery/safety plan, primarily group counseling. Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, respect, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness. Use evidence-based practices focusing on individual, family, and group therapy. Link clients to community resources including DCFS, probation/parole, courts, medical care, and natural supports. Promote positive interactions within Chestnut and with the community to sustain a favorable program reputation.
QualificationsMust have a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ supervised mental health experience and obtain Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) within 2 years of hire; OR have a Bachelor’s degree and CADC in good standing with the State of Illinois. Must be willing to be trained in the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA) and achieve CRA certification within 3 months following training. Requires basic computer skills and experience to include MS Word, Outlook, Teams, email and an electronic medical record (EMR).
