The Global Risk and Compliance division (GR&C) exists to enable the FNZ Group to safely achieve its strategic objectives and protect value; to support the growth and delivery of services and propositions to the quality our clients and regulators expect.
Situated within the second line GR&C division, this role requires subject matter expertise and hands-on experience in full cycle software delivery management. Experience and understanding of delivery or operational risk management and control practices is preferred.
The Group Risk Delivery Business Partner is responsible for partnering with Global and local Delivery teams to enable and support high quality, timely technology platform migrations and enhancements to FNZ’s global suite of financial services clients.
In this role, you will collaborate and work directly with FNZ’s Group Chief Risk Officer, Group Head of Delivery & Operations, and Group Head of Technology.
You will provide oversight and assurance of FNZ’s global delivery risk landscape while critically engaging with the business to uphold, mature and evolve FNZ’s risk management practices, processes, and controls. By cultivating a culture of continuous improvement, the successful candidate will ensure that standards are maintained and consistently advanced in alignment with industry best practices.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
Provide expert, practical risk advice and guidance to key business stakeholders including members of FNZ’s Executive Team (Group Head of Delivery & Operations; Group Head of Technology)Provide effective second line risk challenge, as appropriate, to enable strong delivery outcomes on behalf of FNZ clientsPartner with the business to embed and operationalize FNZ’s risk management framework and utilize impactful data and metrics to monitor risk exposure and enable timely and effective risk-based decisions.Collaborate with 1st line software delivery (solution consultants, developers, and testers), production support, and operations teams to embed effective risk management practices and controls, including risk event reporting. Challenge the quality of reported information and ensure escalation of significant risk events to senior management, providing oversight and guidance on remediation and root cause analysis.Assist in embedding a comprehensive and globally consistent risk and control self-assessment framework, including upstream Executive management and Board-level reporting on the efficiency and effectiveness of core delivery processes.Assess and challenge, as appropriate, the effectiveness of KRI metrics and threshold calibrations. Challenge the evaluation of risks associated with threshold breaches and ensure appropriate mitigating actions are defined and recorded for risks exceeding tolerance. Monitor the timely and effective completion of these actions through 1st line reporting.Risk Assurance & Management Support:
Assist in designing and delivering a robust risk assurance program to maintain effective oversight and control.Provide risk management support for new product and service propositions, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively.Evaluate risk exposures for new business activities, assessing risk appetite and the current risk profile to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.Support the risk management process for significant and business-critical change projects, providing insights and oversight to mitigate associated risks.Governance, Reporting & Communication:
Contribute to risk management reporting, escalating key risk items and exceptions to the Global Executive Risk Committee, Group Board Risk & Compliance Committee, and other relevant Boards.Represent delivery risk at governance forums, including Change Release Boards and Global Delivery Risk Committee.Work with Operations and Delivery teams to communicate and implement the Risk Framework, policies, and procedures across all delivery risk areas.Leadership & Development:
Foster a risk-driven culture by promoting awareness of risk policies and processes and the importance of risk management throughout the organization.Collaborate with global and local delivery managers to provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization.Maintain knowledge of and competence in the regulatory environments in which the organisation operates and in the financial services industry.This role requires proven delivery expertise within the financial services industry as a critical foundation for success, with a focus on driving impactful outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. While a strong understanding of risk management and regulatory considerations is advantageous, comprehensive training and support will be provided to the right candidate to develop the necessary risk management capabilities.
Experience:
Strong experience within the financial services industry, with at least 5 years in a software delivery leadership role or related second line risk role.Hands-on, proven experience in software development and the full software development lifecycle.Experience leading large-scale, multi-stream programs in complex, multi-stakeholder, and matrix-managed technology environments.Proven track record of managing risk and/or delivery programs in a complex, multinational environment.Risk, Compliance, & Operational Excellence:
Exposure to first or second-line risk functions with working knowledge of risk management frameworks is advantageous.Working knowledge and familiarity with global financial regulation, data privacy regulation and financial crime regulations.Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing management policies and processes that enhance operational efficiency.Expertise in analyzing, presenting, and reporting management information to senior stakeholders, ensuring actionable insights are delivered with clarity.Leadership & Communication:
