Hire Resolve is actively searching for a strong Group Financial Manager for our client in the mining industry. This key position requires someone with substantial experience in financial management within mining operations or a similar industry. Responsibilities:

Managing a team of 8-15 finance professionals, providing leadership and fostering a collaborative work environment. Handling financial transactions involving multi-national entities and foreign currencies, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with international financial standards. Drafting consolidated and individual financial statements for internal and external reporting, adhering to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Preparing and submitting income tax returns, with specific expertise in mineral royalty tax calculations and related compliance filings. Developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies to support operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. Managing financial audits and ensuring timely completion while liaising with external auditors to address audit queries and findings. Identifying and mitigating financial risks through effective risk management strategies, safeguarding the company’s financial assets and interests. Cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, including senior management, board members, regulatory bodies, and financial institutions, to support organizational objectives and initiatives.

Requirements:

Must be a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa), with current registration. Minimum 5-10 years of progressive experience in financial management within the mining industry or a related sector. Demonstrated experience in preparing and submitting income tax returns, ideally including mineral royalty tax calculations and related compliance filings. Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy development to support organizational goals. Sound understanding of regulatory requirements and experience in implementing effective risk management strategies within the mining sector. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
