Group Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as Group Head of Tax Compliance & Reporting. Reporting to the Group Head of Tax & Treasury, this full-time and permanent position is based in the United Kingdom and offers regional coverage, allowing you to make a significant impact to our Finance department and its’ growth.

Key responsibilities:

•    Develop and implement the Group’s overall tax compliance and reporting strategy

•    Build and lead a high performing group tax compliance and reporting team

•    Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax compliance

•    Ensure compliance with all tax laws and reporting requirements

•    Ensure accurate and complete tax reporting

•    Manage tax audits, enquiries and disputes

•    Develop and implement controls to mitigate tax risks

•    Supporting the Group Financial control team with tax reporting matters across both Group and local audits

•    Working with the Group Financial Control team, oversee quarterly tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations

•    Enhance and optimize existing tax reporting and compliance processes and policies, implementing best practice for tax reporting and compliance

•    Drive continuous improvement in tax compliance initiatives

•    Enhance existing tax compliance visibility, maintaining clear Masterfile data and trackers

•    Manage and coordinate tax audits and tax authority queries

•    Identify, assess and manage tax-related risks

•    Maintain proper documentation to support tax positions and minimise exposure

•    Coordinate and manage the Group’s response to Pillar 2 and ensure Pillar 2 compliance

•    Support with ad-hoc tax queries

•    Regular stakeholder reporting

Key requirements

•    A proven ability to navigate complex tax landscapes in a dynamic corporate environment

•    A deep understanding of tax laws and tax reporting requirements

•    Strong team management skills

•    Able to juggle multiple initiatives and issues simultaneously, including shifting priorities and timelines

•    Able to see the big picture – thinking strategically and long-term – but also to roll up one’s sleeves and get into the detail as required

•    Strong analytical skills

•    Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

•    Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

•    Committed to resolving problems; and to high quality deliverables in an expedient manner on the timelines agreed

•    Open, honest and collaborative leadership and people management style; leading by example and modelling best behaviours

•    Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to influence at all levels

Essential:

•    Minimum of 10 years experience in tax compliance and reporting

•    Leadership experience

•    Comprehensive tax and accounting (IFRS) knowledge

•    Strong ERP system understanding

•    Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills

•    Proven ability to operate in complex global tax environments

•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and other stakeholders

Desirable:

•    Big 4 tax team experience

Experience in similar role in similarly complex organisation
