The Opportunity

This position works out of our Plymouth, MN, location in the Structural Heart (SH) business.

Main Purpose of Role

We are seeking an experienced Operations/Production Group Lead. This position ensures the effective use of material, equipment, and personnel in producing quality production. Responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and meeting build schedules.

What You’ll Work On

Assists in coordinating production activity in assigned work areas, ensuring that product is continuously processed in accordance with build schedulesCoordinates communication of work instructions to personnel in designated areas in accordance with supervisory objectivesEnsures that quality and production goals are metPerforms regular process and quality performance audits of personnel, tooling, and equipment in assigned areasAdvises supervisor or other appropriate contacts in the event of equipment failureAccumulates information for assigned areas regarding work in process inventory status and daily output quantitiesAssists in providing direct training to area operators as requiredProvides feedback on defects encountered, and provides re-training support as necessaryProvides assistance in expediting priority products and tasks in assigned areasPerforms inspection and determines the disposition of rejected components per required documentation, as directedRemains current on developments in the field(s) of expertise, applicable regulatory requirements, and general knowledge of the company’s products, markets, and objectives as well as industry trendsCoordinates purchase requests for equipment and servicesResolves and/or facilitates resolution of problems, including identifying causes to prevent re-occurrenceDaily meeting with manufacturing operators for better communication and continuous improvementEnsures PM (preventive maintenance) and Calibration stickers are up to date
5S audit and weekly meetings with other area value stream group leads in an organization
BBSP Observation Help with any employee needs (assist with training and Employee Self Service needs)Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirementsComplies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignmentsMaintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendorsPerforms other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned

Shift

Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm – 2:00 am with potential overtime

Required Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical/Mechanical Technology, or other comparable specialized training in and working knowledge of the manufacture of implantable medical devices or their equivalentSix or more years of progressively more responsible assembly experience, including the ability to provide work/lead direction to a teamDesired demonstrated knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, assembly, and production technical skills and quality practices Prior experience working in a clean room manufacturing environmentDemonstrated organizational skills, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to work under minimal supervision are requiredThe comprehensive ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English is also required; this requirement includes clear, understandable speech, demonstrated comprehension skills and demonstrated competence in English spelling, grammar, and punctuationThe demonstrated ability to understand and comply with applicable U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) regulations and Company operating procedures, processes, policiesDemonstrated proficiency in operating a personal computer; the ability to pass a 10-key assessment examinationMust be proficient in using various PC-based software packages, including word processing/spreadsheet softwareAbility to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environmentStrong verbal and written communication with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organizationOccasional scheduled overtime is a requirement of this position

Preferred Qualifications

1-3 years of experience as a group-lead in a manufacturing environment

The base pay for this position is $19.15 – $38.35 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
