Job Description Summary: 

The hourly Group Lead is responsible for overseeing groups of hourly employees, assigning tasks, and ensuring that employees within the group adhere to policies, procedures, and achieve goals. The following are guidelines essential for the Group Lead position:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Coordinating, monitoring, and training groups/new hires.Perform operational checks and make sure orders are being properly tagged throughout the shift.Providing clear verbal instructions to group members and promptly addressing any questions or concerns.Planning and delegating tasks to the appropriate channel.Clearly outlining goals and ensuring group members understand what’s expected of them.Educating and training new group members as well as contingent workers.Ensuring health and safety policies and procedures are always obeyed.Serving as the first point of contact for any safety or injury-related incidents.Analyzing group performance and making recommendations for improvement.Getting employee conflicts resolved through the proper chain of command.Upholding the values and standards of the organization or company and setting a good example for colleagues and group members.Maintains production and quality standardsPerforms other related duties as assigned by managementThis position is expected to run production on a daily basis at 50% ratioOther duties may include assisting quality department and inspections

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of general plant practices, floor layout and procedures

Extended understanding of spring manufacturing and the production processMust be able to perform continual and heavy liftingMust possess basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure and set of digital calipersAble to follow instructions, possess basic comprehension and reading skillsPossesses good communication skillsMust be able to work a rotating shift and overtime as requiredAble to work independently and as part of a group as a team playerAdheres to all safety regulations, practices and established company policies.
